First, I want to thank Paige for asking me to guest judge this week. She is the most inspiring, insightful person who always encourages others to be their best creative selves. I am a better artist because of her and am so grateful to know her. Okay, this was so hard for me. Fundamentally, I believe that everyone is a winner simply because they created something and took the brave and beautiful steps to make their art known to the world. So choosing only eleven made my heart heavy. I think many of the entries this week showed strong concepts and artistic merit far beyond traditional portraiture. Bravo everyone! The image I selected for the feature image is from Lesley-Anne Perry. It spoke to me on so many levels. The warm tones of the sunflare, the dizzying motion-blur, the double exposure and the story-telling strength of this image blew me away. I could really relate to it on all levels, as an artist, a woman and a mother. And, it was a selfie! That is not easy to do. Together the top 11 images should be in a fine art exhibit, they are all that strong. Congratulations to all.
